Man asking, When are my taxes due?

How often do you think about your taxes?

Although the “due” months differ slightly for Corporations, Partnerships, and Sole Proprietors, we find that there are generally only three answers to the question of when owners and management of construction companies consider taxes. They are:

  1. In the month they are due, when dread, fear, and complete panic set in.

  2. A month or two before they are due when their tax preparer sends out notices to book an appointment. (Leaving little time to gather all that is needed.)

  3. Throughout the year, with long-range planning, strategic direction, organized records, improved cash flow, and predictable tax obligations.

The question, When are my taxes due? can be asked in panic or with calmness and composure.

Annual Taxes are a Year-Round Endeavor

Note: The Profit Constructors does NOT prepare annual taxes – we make it easier for your tax preparer to do so, saving you time, money, and hassle.

The Profit Constructors team aims to prevent tax-season panic. The solution is to implement year-round, proactive strategies. Three of the encompassing methods we use are:

1. Deliver consistent communication (In particular, through the use of secure client portals where clients contact us and where direct messages can be sent to remind clients of deadlines and required documentation.)

2. Maintain real-time, reconciled, and categorized data. (Such as, books are reconciled monthly, so that missing data can be identified easily.)

3. Automate document collection. (For instance, through the use of software like QuickBooks and Knowify, receipts and documents are stored digitally in real-time, thereby reducing the risk of lost paperwork.)

You still may be wondering, “When are my taxes due?” Look below for a quick snapshot of when your taxes are due.

When Are My Taxes Due?

Tax deadlines (2025 Tax year in 2026) break down this way:

S-Corporations (Form 1120-S): Due March 16, 2026. (While the typical deadline is March 15, it is pushed to the next business day because March 15, 2026, falls on a Sunday.)

C-Corporations (Form 1120): Due April 15, 2026.

Partnerships (Form 1065 and Schedule K-1s): Due March 16, 2026 (Again, because March 15, 2026, falls on a Sunday.)

Sole Proprietor (Form 1040 with Schedule C): Due April 15, 2026.

Note: The personal deadline for owners remains in April, so the pass-through entities of S-Corps and partnerships must file in March to ensure all partners receive their K-1 forms in time to meet their personal April deadline.
